ToonVidio Review

As one of the first (probably the very first) beta testers of the program, here's now my own ToonVidio Review. As always, this review is more from the angle of a video creator, NOT from a marketer.

Watch the following video to see what I think about this program...

What I Like:

1. Built-in 2D and 3D characters, backgrounds, and objects. Ow, and background music tracks and sound effects too.

2. Very easy to use.

3. It has a Timeline, yehey!

4. Human metrics technology.

5. And other features that I still have to try...

What I'm Missing ATM:

1. Keyboard shortcuts - I usually use keyboard shortcuts in editing because clicking a mouse for some time is tiring. I hope they will add keyboard shortcuts soon.

2. Shadows

3. Somewhat buggy at some point (which is normal in any new software)

Overall, I personally like the software, specially that I can see a great potential in it, in making 2D and 3D animation really easy. There might be a few things that needs to be fixed at the moment, but they are constantly updating the software so they should be fixed soon.

Cham – it looks like you could make the shadow: bring in another of the same man, lay the second one down – stretch it out – color it all black – add blur and you’ve got a shadow. Right?

Hi Craig, this is a good way to do it. Unfortunately, I tried and the blur effect is still not working and I can’t find a way to color the character into black at the moment. But let’s see soon once they update the program.

The webinar registration link is not working. Could you fix that, thanks

Hi, this is something out of my control, but I’ll tell the developers about that.

Cham,

Would you please add some special training about Toonvidio to your awesome VideoRubix membership site? You are such a terrific teacher 😉

Would ALSO love to see some training from you for the new Explaindio 3 (in beta right now) and Vinci3D. Any chance of that, pretty please?

Thanks!
Tony

Hi Tony, thanks! Sure I’ll make a special training about ToonVidio. About Explaindio 3 and Vinci 3D, unfortunately I don’t have those software (I know Expliandio 3 is on beta but didn’t sign up) so I’m not really sure.
